Masonry Work for Lightweight Block

Preparation

Use a broom to clean off the dust from the blocks. No need to pour water on the blocks, they can be used dry.

Mixing

Mix 40 kilograms (1 bag) of KANGAROO Mansonry and Tile adhesive Mortar with 10.5-12.0 liters of water.  Or mix KANGAROO Mansonry and Tile adhesive Mortar with water in a ratio of 2.5:1.  Mix the mixture thoroughly until it forms a consistent texture without lumps. Mix with an electric drill for at least 3 minutes. Set aside the mixture for 5 minutes to allow the chemical reactions. Mix again before masonry.

Machine Mixing

Use an electric drill and mix for at least 3 minutes until the texture is consistent. Set aside the mixture for 5 minutes to allow the chemical reactions. Mix again before masonry.

Hand Mixing

Use a trowel to mix mortar for an extended period until it forms a consistent texture without lumps. Set aside the mixture for 5 minutes to allow the chemical reactions. Mix again before masonry.

Work Process

  1. Place the lightweight blocks at an inclined angle on the floor. Apply a thin layer of the mortar on the head and along the edges of blocks, with a thickness of 2-3 cm. Observe the consistency of the mixture by:
    • If the mixed mortar is too runny and does not hold in shape, add more mortar to the mixture.
    • If the mixed mortar is too thick and does not spread evenly, add more water to the mixture.
  2. Position the lightweight blocks on top of the applied mortar. Align properly and tap the blocks firmly to ensure they adhere tightly. Use a trowel to remove an excess mortar and smooth the surface. The masonry work can be continued immediately.
