PLUMB Super Skim Coat for Painted Surfaces is produced from white cement mortar, standard no.133-2556, designed and developed to have excellent adhesion properties. For decorating and fixing old wall and painted surface without the need to peel off old paint*. For fixing coarse-grained, uneven, wavy wall and surface finishing for formworl joints or tiny holes. Ensure a smooth, fine-textured skim coat with a white color.

Preparation

Use a wire brush or suitable tools to clean the surface. *In case of peeling paint, expired paint, or glossy surfaces such as oil-based paint, it should be removed before applying the plaster. Wet the surface with water and allow it to dry before plastering.

Mixing

Mix the mortar with water in a ratio of 1:0.50-0.52, or adjust the consistency as desired. Use an electric mixer to mix until the texture becomes creamy without lumps. 20 kilograms (1 bag) of Super Skim Coat can cover an area of approximately 20-25 sq.m at a thickness of 1-2 mm.

Plastering

1. Can apply one-coat plastering (ONECOAT) directly on the new walls or unpainted surfaces using a trowel. The desired thickness should be around 1-2 mm.
2. In case the surface is uneven or has holes, use a triangular piece of wood to level and fill the plaster as needed until achieving the desired smoothness.
3. Once the plaster starts to dry, use a wet brush to lightly wet the joint areas. Then, use a trowel to level the surface evenly. Allow the plaster to dry for approximately 4-6 hours.
4. Sand the plastered surface with sandpaper with a grit size of 100-200. Use a wet sponge to clean off any dust and leave it dry for at least 1-2 days.
5. When painting, follow the specific steps and standards provided by the paint manufacturer. For example, ensure the moisture of the surface is not above 0.6%. Before painting, in case of unpainted surfaces or surfaces without primer coat, it is necessary to apply a primer coat according to the standard specifications before each painting process.

Precautions

– Once mixed with water, it is recommended to use  within 40-60 minutes. – Contained  cement, may cause irritation if it comes into contact with skin or eyes. – Rinse eyes thoroughly with water if irritation occurs and seek medical attention.

Storage

Keep in dry and shaded area.

– Proper usage and mixing of mortar help reduce the risk of cracks. Lifting the mortar in a proper posture can prevent muscle strain and injury.
