INSTRUCTIONS

KANGAROO Masonry Mortar for General Block is ready-mixed mortar (type 125) contains a variety types of special aggregates for good bonding strength, durable, tough. Suitable for indoor, outdoor wall, high-rise buildings, load-bearing wall and non–load bearing wall. Made from special blend of Portland cement Type I, ASTM C-150 standards, with specially selected aggregates, chemical additives enhancing water retention and adhesion properties. Suitable for general block such as red block, concrete block, and white block.

Preparation

Use a broom to remove dust from the blocks. In case of using red block or white block, wet the block surface evenly 1 time before masonry. Soak red blocks in water until fully saturated, allow blocks to dry briefly before masonry. For cement block, can be used immediately without the need for water soaking.

Mixing

Mix 1 bag of masonry mortar with 5.5-6.0 liters of water or approximately ¼ of cement bucket. Mix the mixture thoroughly until it the texture is consistent without lumps  (mix one bucket of mortar per time)

Machine Mixing

Use a electric mixer and mix for 3-5 minutes until the plaster is consistent without lumps. Set aside the mixture for 5 minutes to allow the chemical reactions. Mix again before plastering.

Hand Mixing

Use a trowel tothoroughly mix the plaster until it forms a consistent texture without lumps.Set aside the mixture for 5 minutes to allow the chemical reactions. Mix again before plastering.

Masonry Work

  • Use a trowel to scoop the mortar and place along the predetermined alignment, approximately 3-5 trowel widths thick, depending on the size of the blocks. Then, place the blocks on the top of the prepare mortar, ensuring that the mortar covers the top of the blocks
  • (In case of large blocks such as white block and cement block, scoop the mortar and create the joints first before placing the blocks on the top of the prepared mortar). Then, repeat the same process until the first row is completed.
  • For the subsequent rows, the alignment of the blocks must be interlocked to ensure the strength and stability of the entire wall. Reinforce the mansory wall with mortar and concrete reinforcement according to the construction standard.

Precautions

– Once mixed with water, it is recommended to use  within 1 hour. – Contained  cement, may cause irritation if it comes into contact with skin or eyes. – Rinse eyes thoroughly with water if irritation occurs and seek medical attention.

Storage

Keep in dry and shaded area. 3 months of shelf life.

Suggestions

– Proper usage and mixing of mortar help reduce the risk of cracks. Lifting the mortar in a proper posture can prevent muscle strain and injury.
