INSTRUCTIONS

PLUMB Plastering Mortar for Lightweight Block is suitable for plastering to lightweight block. Smoother plastered surface due to fine sand. Good bonding strength and reduced cracks thanks to special fiber added. Contain water retention agent preventing water loss.

Preparation

Use a wire brush or broom to clean the dust from the wall surface. Allow the wall surface to absorb the water until it is slighty dry before applying the plaster.

Mixing

Mix 1 bag of plastering mortar with 8.0-9.0 liters of water or 2 cement buckets. Mix until it forms a consistent texture without lumps. 1 bag of plastering mortar weighing 40 kilograms can cover an area of approximately 2.6 sq.m at a thickness of 1 cm.

Machine Mixing

Use a electric mixer and mix for 3-5 minutes until the plaster is consistent without lumps. Transfer the plaster mixture to a tray or container and set aside the mixture for 5 minutes to allow the chemical reactions. Mix again before plastering.

Hand Mixing

Use a trowel tothoroughly mix the plaster until it forms a consistent texture without lumps.Set aside the mixture for 5 minutes to allow the chemical reactions. Mix again before plastering.

Plastering

Apply a plaster layer with a thickness not exceeding 1.5 cm. Begin by applying a thin scratch coat with a trowel, then apply additional layers to achieve the desired thickness.

Plastering on Concrete Structures (Column-Beams)

Prepare the surface of the concrete structure before plastering by applying mortar onto the concrete to roughen the surface. Leave for 1-2 days (the adhesive strength depends on the surface condition, the type of adhesive and chemical used, sand mixture and the surface roughness). Or use a trowel with notches size between 3-6 mm to scratch the surface. Wait until the mortar sets, then proceed to plaster over with PLUMB Plastering Mortar for Lightweight Block (adhesive strength greater than 2kg/sq.cm)

Mixing mortar for surface plastering on concrete requires a thicker consistency compared to wall plastering. (Less water should be used because plastering on the concrete surface takes longer time for the cement to set compared to plastering on walls, which can cause the cement to shrink).

For the first coat, apply a thin layer of plastering, approximately 1-1.5 cm thick. Allow the plastering to slightly dry before apply additional layers as desired, following the same steps and details as wall plastering, until the plastering process us complete.

Precautions

Once mixed with water, it is recommended to use  within 1 hour – 1 hour 30 minutes. – Contained  cement, may cause irritation if it comes into contact with skin or eyes. – Rinse eyes thoroughly with water if irritation occurs and seek medical attention.

Storage

Keep in dry and shaded area. – 3 months of shelf life.

Suggestion

Proper usage and mixing of mortar help reduce the risk of cracks. Lifting the mortar in a proper posture can prevent muscle strain and injury.
